6. Language used in the minutes 

Where the official language actually used at oral proceedings is not the language of the proceedings under Art. 14(3), the minutes may be drawn up in that other official language if the examining or opposition division or the Legal Division considers it appropriate and all parties concerned explicitly agree.

Before agreeing to this, parties must be informed that the EPO will not provide translations of the minutes into the language of the proceedings as defined in Art. 14(3). This condition, as well as the declaration of agreement of the party or parties, is recorded in the minutes.

Statements made in English, French or German are entered in the minutes of the proceedings in the language used (Rule 4(6)).

Statements made in any other language must be entered in the official language into which they are translated.

Amendments made to the text of the description or claims of a European patent application or European patent during oral proceedings must be entered in the minutes in the language of the proceedings.
