User Guide
1. Structure and features of the HTML version
The Case Law of the Boards of Appeal publication (CLB) is published in electronic formats only (HTML and PDF). The HTML version has additional features allowing users to stay up-to-date between full editions.
The left navigation bar/menu can be expanded chapter-by-chapter, sub-chapter-by-sub-chapter, for an overview of the structure and table of contents. If you would like to search for specific terms in the chapter structure of the CLB, this can be achieved by clicking on "Detailed table of contents" near the top of the navigation bar/menu. Learn more about searching the CLB in the "Search the Case Law of the Boards of Appeal" section.
The HTML version also features the "New decisions" sidebar on the right of the main text for each section or chapter. This list is updated quarterly with abstracts of decisions, which summarise key aspects of selected decisions that were issued after the CLB’s publication, allowing users to review them briefly in their thematic context.
Between the triennial editions of the CLB, the HTML version is updated annually with interim revisions and updates of selected sections. The revisions can be viewed in the HTML version only; the PDF version remains unchanged for any given edition. Any changes to the relevant webpages are flagged accordingly with a notice in the heading.
