Overview

2.2.2 Online examination

In D 37/21, the appellant alleged that the Examination Board had failed to take into account systematic failures of the Wiseflow software used in the examination and the resulting time loss that candidates encountered. The DBA found it plausible that the time loss caused by the closing of the lockdown browser window was not insignificant and, even if not excessively long, would have caused additional stress preventing the appellant from concentrating on the paper. The DBA provided examples of how the loss of time could be compensated, following a conservative and a more generous approach, and remitted the case to the Examination Board for re-marking (see also D 39/22 in this chapter V.C.2.3).
