3. Derogations from the language of the proceedings in written proceedings
3.1 Written submissions
Any amendment and correction to the international application must be filed in the language of the proceedings. However, if the EPO did not act as RO and the international application was filed in a language other than the language of the proceedings, any rectification under Rule 91.1(b)(ii) and Rule 91.1(b)(iii) must be filed in both the language in which the application was filed and the language in which it was translated for the purpose of the procedure before the EPO (language of the proceedings).
Any other correspondence with the EPO as RO, (S)ISA and IPEA can be in any of the EPO official languages.
The EPO will, however, reply in the language of the proceedings.
