I am trying to pay renewal fees but cannot see them in Central Fee Payment. Why is that?

If unitary effect has not yet been registered, the option to pay a renewal fee will not be displayed in Central Fee Payment (CFP) because there are no renewal fees due yet. For renewal fees falling due between the date of grant of the European patent and the date of registration of unitary effect, the due date for payment of the respective renewal fee will be shifted to the date of notification of the communication confirming the registration of unitary effect (EPO Form 7030) (Rule 13(5) UPR). Only from the date of registration of unitary effect will the system recognise the Unitary Patent's existence and allow for the payment of the corresponding fee. The fee can then be paid within three months of the date of notification without any additional fee. All future renewal fees will fall due as usual.

In addition, you will not be able to pay any renewal fee for a Unitary Patent earlier than three months before the due date.

If none of the above is the case, make sure that UP is selected as the procedure in CFP. CFP will not show renewal fees due for a Unitary Patent if EP is selected as the procedure.
