The Deep Tech Finder by the European Patent Office (EPO) is a free tool for discovering patent-backed startups, university spinouts, investors and research organisations across Europe. It combines official EPO patent data with startup, spinout, investor, funding and research-institution information. The Deep Tech Finder helps users to explore Europe's deep-tech innovation and research ecosystems across technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), biotech, quantum technologies, climate tech, energy, hydrogen, robotics and aerospace.
The tool supports startups seeking visibility, investors scouting innovation opportunities, universities showcasing research spinouts and organisations conducting technology scouting across Europe's innovation landscape. It now includes more than 10 000 patent-backed startups, 3 000 spinouts, 10 000 investors and 1 000 research institutions.
