10.2 Information on the publication of the ISR and the supplementary European search report

Pursuant to Art. 153(6), the ISR takes the place of the European search report and is not republished. Once the international application is published, the ISR is available via file inspection, given that the EPO either already has it because it acted as (S)ISA or has received it from the IB in its capacity as designated/elected Office under Art. 20 PCT (A‑XII, 5.2). The communication under Art. 20 PCT is issued shortly before the end of the international phase unless it was requested earlier (A‑XII, 7.1; A‑XV, 2 and 3).

The European Patent Bulletin will mention the date of dispatch of any supplementary European search report drawn up in accordance with Art. 153(7) (A‑XIV, 5). The report is not published but is available via file inspection (A‑XI, 2.2; A‑XIII, 10.3).
