Structure and entries in the European Patent Register

This lecture provides a comprehensive overview of the structure and content of both the European Patent (EP) Register and the Unitary Patent (UP) Register.

Particular attention will be given to the legally required register entries displayed in the EP "About this file" and UP "About this file" sections.

Using real-life examples, we will examine the information available in the Status, Bibliographic Information, Examination, and other register sections throughout the entire patent lifecycle, from the filing of an application, through search and examination procedures, to grant, post-grant activities, and the Unitary Patent procedure.

The lecture will also cover the sections dedicated to Legal Status, Register Events, Citations, and Register Online File Inspection, explaining their purpose and practical use.

By the end of the lecture, you will have a solid understanding of the EP and UP Register structure and functionality. You will also know how to locate and use Register user documentation, help files, and other available resources to support your future work.
