Technology platforms: quantum technologies

Quantum technologies promise a massive leap in capabilities for computing, communication and sensing. As a transformative force with vast economic and societal potential, this field is characterised by a mix of startups and established corporations. Use patent information to track emerging technologies and their inventors across the complex quantum landscape.

This lecture will explain how to discover Europe’s deep-tech Quantum ecosystem with the Deep Tech Finder (DTF) tool and explore quantum patent applications through the technology platform.

The Quantum technology platform seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the global quantum ecosystem, mapping a broad selection of diverse quantum related technologies and applications. It aims to offer a snapshot of the current state of the art. To this end, the platform provides access to batches of patent applications, well-organised into concepts and sub concepts, via pre-made ESPACENET queries. Its purpose is to provide scientists, practitioners and policy makers with an overview of quantum technologies in communication, computing and sensing.
