Oral proceedings in opposition at the EPO

This workshop is for professional representatives seeking to learn how to present a case in the most effective way in front of an opposition division, with the guidance of an experienced trainer in opposition proceedings. Along with experienced patent attorneys and senior examiners they guide participants through the potential pitfalls in a range of hearings. There is extensive learning on the job with simulated, mock oral proceedings designed to let attendees experience different events in real time, but in a safe environment. They can play a variety of roles (opposition division, proprietor or opponent), and need to study preparatory documentation provided in advance in order to conduct structured oral proceedings.

Basic experience in oral proceedings is recommended.
