Luca Rossettini

Luca Rossettini is founder and CEO of D-Orbit Group, a space logistics company developing technologies to make Earth’s orbit safer and more sustainable. With a background in aerospace engineering, Rossettini created the D-Orbiter Decommissioning Device (D3), an autonomous system that enables satellites to be safely removed from orbit at the end of their mission. A finalist for the European Inventor Award 2023, he is committed to tackling the growing challenge of space debris and supporting responsible, long-term use of space.

Alongside his ambition to one day go to space, Rossettini focused on taking his technology beyond research. Following studies in technology entrepreneurship and the founding of D-Orbit in 2011, he worked to bring the D3 from concept to deployment, navigating early funding constraints and the technical demands of operating in orbit. Over time, the technology has been integrated into space missions and expanded to include additional space logistics services.
