This year’s Case Law Conference, formerly known as the Boards of Appeal and Key Decisions conference will take place on 21 to 22 November.

It provides an excellent opportunity for patent practitioners to gain an insight into what’s new in the Boards of Appeal case law and practice. Since its establishment in 2012, the event has attracted thousands of participants to engage with members of the Boards on major topics relating to Boards of Appeal decisions.

This high-level event is organised by the European Patent Academy.

Who should attend?

The conference is designed for patent practitioners (patent attorneys, attorneys-at-law, in-house counsels), judges and national patent office staff with a recommended minimum of four years’ experience in the field of patents.

Technical requirements

To attend the online part of the event you need a computer or mobile device with a high-speed internet connection. However, to take advantage of all Zoom features, we strongly recommend installing the Zoom desktop client app on your computer (Windows and Mac versions available). To join via mobile device, simply download the Zoom mobile app for your iOS or Android device from the App Store or Google Play Store.

You can also access Zoom from a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Chromium (Microsoft) Edge) without downloading any additional software, however some features (like selecting microphone, speaker or camera, entering breakout rooms, downloading files from the chat) might then be restricted.

We recommend using a headset to enhance your Zoom experience.

A few days before the online conference you will receive the Zoom link to join the event.

However, we do inform you that parts of the event may be recorded for quality audit and internal training purposes.
